How the Hell Did They Do That?

I am just back from my Cambridge conference and learned many amazing things from some incredible minds. But it was this demonstration shown by philosopher Simon Blackburn as an example of seeing is not believing that left me astounded.

It will take me a few days to get back into the swing of things as I am knackered but fear not, I will start über-blogging again shortly. And yes,… I did get “saucy codpiece” into my opening introduction to the meeting.

    Codpiece meister extraordinaire.

It was hilarious… I will post some pictures soon of the event. I am also going to use it in my US tour in April.
    Thanks Nobbly

  3. Can we not hire Mr. James to cut Morgan and Osborne in half (I don’t know the other guy, so will reserve sentencing), but hide the stapler?

It would be in the public interest – honestly….

I can testify that, as a matter of fact, Bruce indeed mentioned the word “saucy codpiece”.

I can also testify that me and Konrad were the only people smirking when he did so.

  5. It’s so good to have you back. I was beginning to feel my up-to-date knowledge of the supernatural was suffering…
Thanks for the link – next time you’re in Cambridge let me know and I’ll go through border control to buy you a pint.

  6. About the magic trick, it is driving me nuts. I cannot understand people who can see something amazing like that and then just let it be. Pleaze tell me how the hell they did that!

Dear Bjorn… I would hate to tell you how it is done as it would remove your wonder which after is the whole point. But if you watch carefully.. you might just figure it out!

  8. wow! I don’t need to know how they did it – love fantastic tricks like that. Wait… it was a trick wasn’t it?

Because we staple fallen body parts back on our patients all the time at the gimcrack. Never tried it across the entire abdomen before though.

    maybe today…..

Love the clip. I really want to know how they do it, though. It kills me not knowing.

Congrats on saucy codpiece. I can’t say that I have ever given a public lecture in which I’ve been able to insert such a wonderful phrases. I am all green with envy.

    Great to have you back.

  10. I looked and looked and… I got it! Starting thinking about The Prestige, and realized not just anyone can do every trick.

Well done Bjorn . Yes there are two people… But not natural people. I hate losing the magic!

Ha! I figured it out before your comment. Of course, Bjorn’s comment was a major assist.

You’re right though. Once you know, it’s such a letdown.

What do you think?
